Dave’s Diary – Winning Cause, The Odds, She’s The One

I decided to put more time and commitment to run this blog. Although I am still actively involved in Singapore and Hong Kong racing but I am not very motivated to publish my thoughts and selections on this site.

Last week, after tipping my friend a 1-33 outsider, he throw a challenge and ask if I can grow back the readership for this blog to 1000 loyal fans by end of the year 2017. I gladly accept it.

To kick start the campaign, I would like to introduce a small little book which I keep track all the good runs and horses that caught my attention. Most of the time the horses that I mentioned, are coming to hand and will be ready to fire in the next 2-3 runs.

Let me start with Singapore meeting which ended few weeks ago

14 April 2017

Race 11 – 1400m , Winning Cause ridden by N Juglall and trained by R Le Grange. I feel the horse needs more ground and 1600m seems to suit. The winner Queen’s Seven had a quick turn of foot and breakaway from the pack in the final stretch.

Race 3 – Lucky Stride keeps on improving and had a good run. Need a bit of luck to score next winner.

16 April 2017

Race 2 – The Odds newcomer to the race had 2 barrier trial prior this race. Not so impressive in the trial but the late finishing speed caught my attention. From the start, The Odds was trapped inside rail and race greenly. Should improve next run.

Race 8 – Country Quake. From the steward report ..

COUNTRY QUACK (D Beasley) and DICAPRIO (B Vorster) bumped heavily on jumping. DICAPRIO was then bumped by COUNTRY QUACK, which shifted inwards.

COUNTRY QUACK was held up for clear running from the 600m until approaching the 300m.

Not able to compete at the usual pace and running style, cost them the race. Watch him again.

21 April 2017

There’s one horse which I have been following for a few start.

Race 2 – She’s The One

I just can’t explain why this horse caught my attention. I feel if a big outsider going to show up next time, it will be here.

Watch her replay here.

Feel free to comment on my new Facebook page and I will update this site again with my selection for this weekend.
